NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Palm Beach Atlantic University women's basketball team began their 2019-20 season with an exhibition game today at Vanderbilt. The Sailfish fell to their Division I, SEC opponent 116-42.
The Sailfish were lead by guard
Sia Williams who scored 10 points on 2-5 shooting from the field.
Claire Bady was second in scoring with eight for PBA on 4-10 shooting, and
Avree Carpenter and
Caroline Patrick each added six points. The Sailfish have given themselves the unique opportunity to test their new team by scheduling two high-level Divison I opponents before moving into their regular seasons. PBA has seven newcomers to mix into a squad that returns seven starters from last season's team.
The 'Fish will return home and prepare for their next exhibition game at Stetson on Nov. 5.
