WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer struggled to hold back a potent attack from No. 9 Barry on Wednesday night, falling 4-1.
Barry scored early in the 6th minute after Sunshine State Conference leading scorer Christy Grimshaw shot a deflected volley into the top right corner, putting the Buccaneers up 1-0.
The Buccaneers increased the lead to 2-0 after they struck again in the 32nd minute on a penalty kick from Molly Sharpe.
Jade Adams added the third Barry goal in the 39th minute, weaving in between Sailfish defenders before finishing outside the box into the top right corner.
Barry made the scoreline 4-0 right before the end of the first half after Phoebe Licence beat Madison Chiola on the near post.
The Sailfish scored their lone goal in the 72nd minute on a Sophia Boris deflection, assisted by Shannon Berg.
Palm Beach Atlantic will travel to Boca Raton next Wednesday as they take on Lynn. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
