WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball swept Rollins on Saturday, cruising to victories in all three sets to improve to 14-1 on the season and bounce back from last night's loss to No. 12 Tampa. The Sailfish are now 6-1 in Sunshine State Conference play as Rollins falls to 1-5.
The 'Fish won the first four points of the match and never looked back, as they dominated the opening set of play, leading by as many as 14, and winning the set 25-11. PBA hit .370 in the opening set, and had just three attacking errors while tallying 13 kills.
The second set was even more lopsided, as the Sailfish hit a whopping .600 and didn't record a hitting error in the set. The 'Fish got off to another strong start, as they opened up an 11-2 lead as Lyndzey Minter, Raegan Grooms, and Jennie Anderson all had multiple kills early in the set and the 'Fish won 25-9.
The Sailfish played a total of 13 players in the match, and also cruised to a 25-14 win in the final set. Amber Rowoldt led the 'Fish with eight kills in the set while Grooms had seven kills and just one error. Anderson finished with seven kills and no errors in eight swings while Maddie Span had six kills on her eight swings.
Minter was perfect on the day with five kills in five swings as Sophia Rasmussen added three kills. Molly Burkhardt had a double-double with 24 assists and 10 digs.
The Sailfish will face a couple of tough road tests next weekend as they will travel for matches against Florida Southern and Saint Leo.
