Burrows' Blast Keeps 'Fish Perfect

TAMPA, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer kept their perfect season alive thanks to Jack Burrows who delivered a strike in overtime to lift PBA to victory, 2-1, over Tampa on Saturday night.

The Sailfish trailed for just the second time this season as Till Neumann put the Spartans up with a goal in the 23rd minute. The Sailfish went into halftime down for the first time this season.

In the second half the 'Fish (8-0, 3-0 SSC) were awarded a penalty kick in the 50th minute but Tampa keeper Jake Richards was able to stop Callum Chapman-Page's attempt to keep Tampa in the lead. Just 11 minutes later it was Guillermo Deal who equalized with his third goal of the season.

In the overtime period the Sailfish took the lone shot as Burrows was open in the middle of the field off a throw in. He was able to turn, take a touch and then let it rip from about 30 yards as the ball tailed away from Richards inside the far post for his third goal of the season.

The Sailfish took 13 shots to just eight for the Spartans. Claudio Rivadeneira and Alex Stoiljkovic led the 'Fish with three shots each. Elliott Barker made two saves in net for PBA while Richards stopped four shots.

PBA is scheduled to jump out of conference play on Monday as they take on Florida Memorial at 7 p.m. at the Rinker Athletic Campus.
