WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's lacrosse closed out their first season on Saturday at the Rinker Athletic Campus against Rollins, losing to the Tars 13-4.
The Sailfish fell behind 3-0 after the first period and were down 4-0 before Blake Israel got the 'Fish on the board midway through the second. PBA trailed 6-1 at halftime but Israel scored twice early in the third to pull the Sailfish to their closest point since the early moments.
The Tars answered with two goals of their own before Thomas Pinel scored in the latter stages of the third period. For Pinel it was his fifth goal of the season. That's all the 'Fish were able to get as the Tars shutout PBA in the fourth, scoring five times.
The Sailfish were outshot 53-20 as the Tars peppered the Sailfish goal all night long. PBA's Ben Savick made a season-high 22 saves. He also led the team with seven ground balls. Alex Aken added four ground balls while Colin Hayek had three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Israel finishes his first season at PBA with 16 goals and two hat-tricks after also recording one against Montevallo in the team's first win in February.
The Sailfish close the season with a 4-12 record overall and a 1-6 mark in the Sunshine State Conference.
