WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis closed out the season with a conference win over Embry-Riddle, defeating the Eagles 5-4.
All three doubles contests were tightly contested with the Sailfish winning at No. 1 and No. 3 by the same 8-6 score. Bella Mermersky and Yuliia Russu picked up the win at No. 1 as they defeated Maria Turrillo and Kathryn Bock. Taylor Conti and Michaela Mignemi were paired together at No. 3 and picked up the victory over Sabrina Ehrenfort and Lydia Carter.
In singles Vanessa Buchbinder came away with a tough 7-6 (1), 7-5 victory in the third flight over Georgina Wood while Romina Bolagay earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 5. The whole match came down to No. 6 and Mignemi. After taking the first set 6-0 over Carter, Mignemi dropped the second 7-5 before rallying in the third to win 7-6 (2) to secure the match for the Sailfish.
The Sailfish wrap up their season with an 11-13 overall record and a 2-8 record in the SSC.
