BOCA RATON, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis was unable to measure up to No. 1 Lynn on Thursday, falling to the Fighting Knights 8-1 in a Sunshine State Conference matchup.
PBA (7-8, 0-3 SSC) was only to pick up a win at No. 4 singles as Taylor Conti was credited with the win leading 5-4 in the first set when her opponent, Eleonora Liga, retired. The Fighting Knights (10-1, 2-0 SSC) were dominant throughout singles play, limiting the 'Fish to only three or less games won in the other five matches.
Johanna Kern and Romina Bolagay had the best showing in doubles, losing at No. 2 by a score of 8-4 to Liga and Anastacia Parkin. Lynn took the other two matches by scores of 8-2 and 8-1.
The Sailfish are back in action on Saturday as they host Southeastern at 1 p.m.
