WINTER PARK, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic's late comeback attempt fell just short on Saturday as the Sailfish fell to the Tars 57-52. The teams split the season series after PBA won the first matchup of the year in Rubin Arena.
Hannah Grim scored 19 points including 15 in the second half as the 'Fish outscored Rollins 20-7 in the final period. Grim finished 6-of-8 at the free throw line as the Sailfish marched back from an 18-point deficit at the end of the third quarter.
PBA scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter to cut the margin down to eight. After a Rollins bucket, Grim hit her second 3-pointer of the game to cut the lead down to seven. Another triple 30 seconds later cut the lead down to four before a layup with 21 seconds left cut the lead all the way down to two.
Rollins followed with a pair of free throws from Julia ingler that put the Tars in front by four and after a missed 3 by the 'Fish, Ingler made another to give the Tars the final margin of five.
Nkiru Anyagaligbo added 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting for the 'Fish as the senior scored 10 in the first half. Anyagaligbo added a team-high eight boards in 35 minutes of action. Ciara Cumbie scored seven points and pulled down seven rebounds. Darsan DeShazier and Mina Salhia each added three assists to lead the team.
The Sailfish return home on Valentine's Day to host Tampa at 5:30 p.m.
