WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's basketball dropped their second SSC game of the season on Saturday, as they fell to Saint Leo 50-45 inside Rubin Arena.  The Sailfish fall to 1-5 with the loss. 

The Sailfish and Lions struggled to get much offense going in the first half of play, as both teams went 8-for-31 (26 percent) from the field in the half.  The Sailfish took a 24-23 lead into the break and got eight points from Jonika Garvin, seven points from Aniyah Ross, and six points from Ciara Cumbie in the half while Saint Leo's offense was dominated by Casey Wortley, who scored 14 in the first half and went 4-for-6 from long range. 

The Sailfish offensive struggles continued in the second half, as they shot just 8-for-27 from the field and fell by the 50-45 final.  The 'Fish lost the lead with 3:16 to play in the fourth quarter and were unable to regain the lead down the stretch. 

Garvin led the 'Fish with 14 points in the game, as the Lake Worth, Fla. native added a couple steals and a block.  Ross finished with nine points and six rebounds as Cumbie scored eight points and pulled down a game-high 11 boards.  Taylor Laabs added six points and four rebounds off the bench for the Sailfish.  Wortley scored a game-high 24 for the Lions on the afternoon.

The Sailfish will return to action on Friday, Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. inside Rubin Arena as they will face off with Rollins College.
