WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer fought hard but could not hold back a feisty Flagler offense on Wednesday night, falling 4-1 in a nonconference match. 

Sophomore Sara Sandberg kicked off the scoring early, just one minute into the game, beating the PBA defense on a counterattack and slotting the ball into the right corner. Sandberg's 14th goal of the season put the Saints up 1-0.

Charlene Nowotny added another goal in the 10th minute to put Flagler up 2-0. The junior took a touch to her left to generate space and curled a shot over the head of Madison Chiola from just inside the box.

Both teams swapped attacking chances for 26 minutes until Lorena Lopez scored in the 36th minute. Lopez dribbled into the left side of the box and split two Sailfish defenders before placing a shot into the top right corner. Palm Beach Atlantic ended the first half trailing, 3-0.

Kianna Magner had a penalty kick attempt in the 77th minute after a Saints defender accidentally kicked Jaycie Tate in the face. Flagler goalkeeper Sarah-Lisa Dubel guessed wrong and Magner buried the ball in the left corner to draw the 'Fish within two.

Flagler immediately dialed-up the pressure and scored four minutes later after Maria Castorino Mujica headed in a Conchi Sanchez shot that rattled off the crossbar. The Saints held on during the last eight minutes to defeat the 'Fish, 4-1.

Palm Beach Atlantic will travel to Lakeland for a conference matchup against Florida Southern on Saturday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
