Sailfish Fall 3-2 to Sharks

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer scored two goals in the second half but were unable to contain a potent Nova Southeastern offense, losing 3-2.

Both teams struggled to direct shots on frame in the first half, with both the 'Fish and Sharks only recording two shots on goal in the first half.

The Sharks drew first blood in the 21st minute, scoring the only goal of the first 45 minutes of action. Emma Heikkila took advantage of a botched clearance at the top of the box, volleying a shot to the left post that rattled into the net.

The 'Fish were unable to generate significant offensive chances in the first half, ending the first half trailing 1-0 to the Sharks.

The second half of action saw a flurry of goals from both teams. The Sailfish started the goal frenzy in the 55th minute when Karina Williams' shot dribbled past the defense off a corner. Her fourth goal of the season tied the game at one.

Kianna Magner put PBA up 2-1 in the 60th minute, redirecting a Kylee Rullo pass into the goal.

The Sharks tied up the game just two minutes later when Hannah Christophe blasted a shot past Madison Chiola into the far post.

Nova Southeastern scored the go-ahead goal in the 86th minute. Heikkila secured her brace after she took a through ball from Christophe and slotted a shot into the right side of the net. The Sharks would hold off the 'Fish attack to win the game 3-2.

Palm Beach Atlantic will host Eckerd for senior night on Saturday at 6 p.m.
