Sailfish Fall to No. 8 Argonauts 3-1

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer gave No. 8 ranked University of West Florida all they could handle on Sunday morning, but two late goals for the Argonauts sealed a 3-1 victory over the Sailfish. 

The Sailfish were on the attack early in the first half, as they took six shots in the first 30 minutes of play.  The Sailfish found the back of the net first in the match as a Gemma Burrul shot was blocked right to the foot of Kelly Giddes, who put a shot past the West Florida keeper for her first goal of the season.

The end of the first half saw West Florida on the attack more, as they finished the half with 12 shots, seven of which were on goal.  Isabelle Granlund made several stellar saves in the first half to keep the Sailfish ahead 1-0 going into the break. 

The second half of the match belonged to the Argonauts, who scored three unanswered goals.  The Sailfish did create a couple of opportunities, as they finished the match with 12 shots, but were unable to score in the second half. 

The Sailfish are now 1-1 on the season, and have another south region match with Nova Southeastern University on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the Rinker Athletic Campus.  The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m.
