Sailfish Take 29 Shots in Shutout of Warhawks

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer dominated possession from start to finish Sunday evening, as they outshot Auburn University at Montgomery 29-1 en route to a 2-0 victory in front of a large crowd at the Rinker Athletic Campus.

The Sailfish offense had good rhythm out of the gate, peppering shot after shot at the Auburn Montgomery defense, which stood strong in the first half.  PBA took 15 shots in the first half, but were unable to put one past the AUM keeper.

The second half was a different story however, as Claudio Rivadeneira finished past the AUM goalie on a beautiful cross from Dominik Budic in the 62nd minute.  The goal was Rivadeneira's first as a member of the PBA soccer team. 

After missing a couple of opportunities to add on to the lead, the Sailfish finally pulled away in the 88th minute, as Fredo Dilbert beat the Warhawk defense, scoring an unassisted goal to seal the victory for PBA.

Freshman Patrick Seuffert picked up the shutout in net for the Sailfish, and was helped by a strong Sailfish backline, who did not allow a shot on goal in the contest.  Juan Sanchez and Budic were key pieces of that effort, as both played all 90 minutes in the shutout.

The Sailfish will travel to Daytona Beach on Thursday, Sept. 7 for their next match, which is a 7 p.m. start against Lee University.
