No. 13 Sailfish and Flames Play to Scoreless Draw in Tennessee

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The No. 13 ranked Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer team played Lee University to a scoreless tie in front of a crowd of over 500 fans on Thursday night.  The teams were forced to move the game to the campus of Lee University as Hurricane Irma continues to threaten Florida. 

Both defenses dominated the first 45 minutes of the match, as the Sailfish and Flames only combined for five shots in the first half.  Both teams had opportunities to score late in the second half, but neither was able to finish a scoring chance as the game remained scoreless heading to overtime. 

The Sailfish had the only shot on goal in the overtime periods but the Flames goalkeeper made the save to keep the match scoreless.

Elliott Barker made three saves on the night for the 'Fish, as he completed his first shutout of the season. 

The Sailfish defense turned in their third solid performance of the season, as they have just allowed one goal and only five shots on goal all season.  The Sailfish have turned in consecutive shutouts, as they also shutout Auburn University at Montgomery on Sunday in West Palm Beach.

The Sailfish will be in action again on Saturday, Sept. 9 as they will travel to Aiken, S.C. to face off with USC-Aiken at 7 p.m.
