Sailfish Drop Overtime Contest with Tampa 1-0

TAMPA, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer team dropped another one-goal match on Saturday, as they fell to the University of Tampa in overtime 1-0.  The loss drops the Sailfish to 1-4 on the season, and 0-2 in Sunshine State Conference play.

The first half was a defensive one between the 'Fish and the Spartans as neither team got many scoring chances.  The Sailfish ended up out-shooting Tampa 3-2 in the first 45 minutes, but neither team had a shot on goal in the half. 

The second half swung more in the favor of the Sailfish though, as PBA took two shots on target in the half.  Karina Williams and Gemma Burrul both fired shots in the second half that were stopped by the Spartan keeper.  The Sailfish defense remained stingy on the night, as they did not allow a shot to reach goalkeeper Isabelle Granlund in the first 90 minutes of the match.  Neither team was able to put a shot in the back of the net in regulation and the game headed to overtime. 

Tampa scored the game-winning goal in the 95th minute as Ali Robinson scored her second goal of the season. 

The Sailfish will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 27 as they will travel to face off with Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla.  The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
