Jerry Saint-Vil opened the scoring after his 26th minute shot got past the Spartan goalkeeper and found its way into the far corner.
Claudio Rivadeneira provided the senior with the assist after his own shot could not make it into the back of the net. The goal and assist were the first of the season for both Saint-Vil and Rivadeneira respectively. Rivadeneira also tallied six shots, doubling his previous season high.
In the second half, Tampa found a break though from Markus Woldsund off a rebound in the 73rd minute.
The overtime period saw plenty of chances for both teams, but neither found an opening to win the game.
The match was a heated one with multiple Sailfish and Spartans getting carded throughout. Overall, the match saw 10 yellow cards with both teams getting five a piece.
The last time the Sailfish faced the Spartans was in the 2016 South Region Championship match, where they lost 3-2. PBA had hoped to leave a better taste in their mouth this time around, but they had to settle for a draw.
The Sailfish are back in action against Barry at home on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
