ANAHEIM, Calif. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's basketball dropped their second game of the season Saturday, falling to Upper Iowa by a 79-76 final.  The Sailfish and Peacocks went back-and-forth in the second half several times, but the 'Fish came up short and now sit 0-2 on the young season.

The Peacocks got off to a strong start, quickly jumping out to a 13-7 lead in the Division II Tipoff Classic game.  The Sailfish then found their rhythm, finishing the first half on a 29-17 run to take a six-point lead into the break.  Matthew Johnson and Jules Jasmin finished the half with seven points apiece, which led the 'Fish in scoring. 

A three-pointer by Dakota Zinser right out of halftime opened op a nine-point lead for the Sailfish, but Upper Iowa hit three shots from long range in a row to tie the game at 39 points apiece.  The Peacocks kept rolling offensively, and opened up a nine-point lead with just under seven minutes to go. 

The Sailfish were able to get within three points with ten seconds to go, but Milos Kostic missed a three-pointer at the buzzer as the 'Fish fell to the Peacocks 79-76.  The Sailfish had a very balanced attack in the game, as six players scored more than eight points for the 'Fish.  Jasmin led the team with 12 points, and Johnson, Grant Gullett, and De'Ondre Jackson scored 11 each. 

The Sailfish finished 10-for-23 from long range in the contest, and went 10-of-12 from the free-throw line.  Joe Smoldt and Carson Parker scored 18 points each for the Peacocks in the game to lead all scorers.

The Sailfish will complete their play at the Division II Tipoff Classic tomorrow, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. eastern as they will face off with Jefferson University.
