Sailfish Drop SSC Road Contest to Mocs

LAKELAND, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's basketball dropped a Sunshine State Conference game to Florida Southern on Saturday, falling at the Jenkins Field House by a 87-63 final score.  The Sailfish fall to 0-4 on the season while the Moccasins improve to 3-1 on the year.

The Mocs got out to a hot start in the contest, as the home team outscored the Sailfish 22-10 in the first quarter.  Anja Fuchs-Robetin scored seven in the quarter for Florida Southern, who extended their lead in the second quarter, as they outscored the 'Fish by four to take a 42-25 lead into halftime.  Jane Svilberg scored 10 points in the first half for the Sailfish to lead the team offensively.

Hannah Grim came off the bench and had a great third quarter, as she scored 12 points for the 'Fish and helped PBA outscore the Mocs 22-19 in the frame.

Florida Southern pulled away late in the contest, as they scored 27 points in the final quarter, and won by the 87-63 final.

Grim finished with 23 points for the 'Fish, as she once again led the Sailfish in scoring.  Svilberg finished with 10 points, and added two blocks.  Tyler Davis scored nine points and added five rebounds for PBA.

PBA didn't have an answer for Florida Southern's offense, as the Mocs shot over 51 percent for the game, and had four players score in double-figures.  Fuchs-Robetin led the Mocs with 21 total points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double.

The Sailfish will return to action after Thanksgiving as they will travel to Miami Shores to face off with Minnesota-Crookston at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24.
