Women's Soccer Ties Rollins, Earns Point in Conference Standings

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's soccer battled until the last minute with Rollins College Saturday night, and came away with a tie against the Tars as the match ended as a scoreless draw.  The 'Fish now sit at 2-5-1 on the season, and 1-3-1 in Sunshine State Conference play.

On a windy night at the Rinker Athletic Campus, neither team had many great scoring chances in the first 45 minutes of play.  Rollins was able to collect eight shots on goal in the half, but Isabelle Granlund was there to save all of the attempts.

Things turned in favor of the Sailfish in the second half, as the 'Fish put lots of pressure on the Tar defense, but were unable to come away with a goal, as the match headed to overtime.  PBA dominated possession in the two overtime periods, as they recorded five shots on goal to just one for the Tars.  Taylor Frizen had the best scoring chances for the Sailfish, as she had two consecutive shots saved by the Rollins defense in the second overtime period.

"As a team you're never satisfied with a tie, but I am more than happy with the way we played. We could not ask for more from the team," said PBA head coach Chris Gnehm.  "I like that my team never gives up and fights for every second of every game.  We had some great chances in overtime to get the three points, but we will take the point and look towards Wednesday."

The Sailfish will hit the road Wednesday, as they travel to face off with first-place Nova Southeastern University at 7 p.m.
