MELBOURNE, Fla. - The No. 2 ranked Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer team finished their regular season unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over Florida Tech on Friday night. The win was a familiar one for the 'Fish, as it was a late goal in the second half that was the difference in the match. The Sailfish improve to 14-0-2 on the season and finish their first season as full members of the Sunshine State Conference with a 9-0-1 record in league play.
The first half was full of good defensive play, as neither team was able to get much going offensively. The best scoring chance of the half came by Sailfish forward
Claudio Rivadeneira, who saw his shot ricochet off the crossbar and out of play. The match entered halftime scoreless as both teams recorded three total shots.
The second half saw both offenses find their rhythm, and begin to challenge the keepers. In the 86

Fredo Dilbert sent a corner into the box, that
Juan Sanchez was able to get a foot on and send past the Panther goalkeeper. The goal was Sanchez's first of the season.
Friday was the 13
th shutout of the season for the 'Fish, who finish the regular season with only allowing three goals. The 13 shutouts is a Palm Beach Atlantic record.
Elliott Barker completed his ninth shutout of the season, which ties the Palm Beach Atlantic single-season record.
The Sailfish, with their Sunshine State Conference Regular Season Championship, have received a bye in the conference tournament, and will play their next match on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Rinker Athletic Campus.
