Davie, Fla.- Palm Beach Atlantic men’s basketball drops to 3-4 on the year following their loss to Nova Southeastern University Wednesday night in the Don Taft University Center.
The Sailfish opened up the contest with an early 7-2 lead in the opening five minutes of the contest, but their lead would not hold for long as the Sharks took a 9-7 lead with 13:29 left in the opening half, and didn't let up their lead for the remainder of the opening twenty minutes as both teams went into halftime with a 44-29 Sharks advantage.
The second half wouldn’t fair any better for the Sailfish, as the Sharks turned up their offense eventually taking a 28-point lead, before finished the contest winning by a final score of 98-79.
Freshman Bakari Warthen finished the night with a season-high 28 points, hitting 10-of-18 from the field including 4-of-7 from downtown.
Warthen was followed by Shavanno Cooper, Milos Kostic, and Cory Kenning, who each scored nine points a piece.
The Sailfish finished the night scoring on 31-of-70 attempts from the field (44.3 percent), but were out-gunned from distance, as the Sharks hit 15 three-pointers versus the five for the Sailfish.
The Sharks were led by Chris Page, who hit six three-pointers and finished the night with 30 points.
The ‘Fish are back in action Saturday afternoon, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. as they host Barry University in the Rubin Arena.
