Faith Rohn added 11 kills with Emma Ballantyne adding seven. The ‘Fish hit .211 for the match while the Blazers (14-4) came in at a .164 clip.

The match might have been a sweep for the ‘Fish but it was anything but easy with 29 ties in the match, balanced between each set. There were also 14 lead changes in the match, highlighted by six in the second set.

The ‘Fish held set point five times in the first set before finally putting the Blazers away on their sixth chance on an attack error from VSU’s Ashley Miller. PBA hit a match-high 235 in the set with the Blazers also seeing a match-high .222 clip.

The second set featured long runs for both sides as VSU took a 15-14 lead on four-point run followed quickly by a 6-0 streak by the Sailfish to give them a 23-18 advantage. The ‘Fish pulled away in the third from an 18-16 lead to push it to 22-16 as the set was capped off with Brown’s 16th and final kill of the day.

Ally Rohn added 30 assists and 12 digs for the Sailfish while Rachael Holehouse led all players with 19 digs. Emma Ballantyne led the defense at the net along with Faith Rohn who each had three block assists and one solo block. Susie Forbes added nine digs for the defense and also had three of the team’s six service aces.
