Green and Parker finished off their Sailfish career in fine fashion, with Green’s 29 points leading all scorers while also bringing down a team-high seven boards. After a back-and-forth first half that saw 15 lead changes, Palm Beach Atlantic took command in the second stanza. The Seahawks did a good job of keeping the Sailfish close, allowing PBA’s biggest lead to reach only seven points. With seconds remaining on the clock, Northwood got a clutch old-fashioned three point play to tie the game and send it to overtime. NU then outscored PBA 9-4 in the extra period.
Palm Beach Atlantic committed an uncharacteristically-high 15 turnovers while only forcing Northwood into 12 of their own. The Seahawks outrebounded the Sailfish 40-35, and shot 83% (30-of-36) from the charity stripe compared to PBA’s 65% (17-of-26).
Joining Green and Parker in double-digits on the evening was sophomore Kimmi McIntosh, who finished with 10. Freshman Alecha Gibbs scored eight points and had seven rebounds.
The Sailfish finish the season 7-19.
