ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – No. 21 ranked Palm Beach Atlantic wrapped up the regular-season with a dominating 3-0 win over Eckerd College from the McArthur Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Sailfish had a tremendous game from a hitting percentage aspect, hitting .347 for the game. Their 17 kill and just four error performance in the first set led the way to a 25-21 victory. Set two was more of the same, with 16 kills, four errors and a .333 percentage leading the ‘Fish to a 25-18 win. The third and final set saw PBA turn in a .375 attack percentage on 11 kills and just two errors in a 25-20 clincher.
Outside hitter Faith Rohn and middle blocker Emma Ballantyne played a key role in the offensive success on the day, with Rohn pounding out 14 kills with just two errors on 29 attempts for a .414 attack percentage. Ballantyne also had double-digit kills, finishing with 10 and just one error in 17 attempts for a .529 mark.
Junior Stephany Brown finished the match with nine kills and just two errors for a .438 percentage and also added four total blocks (two solo, two assist). Freshman Sarah Ragland also contributed to the offense with four kills and three block assists.
Libero Rachael Holehouse led all players with 18 digs, while Rohn put up 10 of her own. Senior setter Becca Acevedo finished the night with 38 assists.
