WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – No. 20 Palm Beach Atlantic rode a strong defensive effort and a balanced offensive attack to take down Beach County rival Lynn University by a 3-0 final in the Rubin Arena on Wednesday evening.

It was a festive scene on Wednesday night in the Rubin Arena, as Palm Beach Atlantic celebrated their Chick-Fil-A Scholar Athlete night as well as head coach Bob White’s 300th PBA victory and Faith Rohn’s 1,000th career kill.

The Sailfish fell behind in both the first and second sets but managed to work their way to even and pull ahead late by final scores of 25-21 and 25-23. The second set was a strong one for Rohn and Acevedo, as Faith pounded six kills and Becca passed out 13 assists. Rachael Holehouse, Melissa Buckingham and Rohn combined for 16 digs in the second set alone.

Palm Beach Atlantic coasted to the third set win by a 25-15 score and took the sweep over the Fighting Knights to improve their record to 24-1.

Rohn led the offense with 13 kills on the night, while Emma Ballantyne added nine and Stephany Brown had eight. The back row combination of Holehouse, Rohn and Buckingham had 15, 13 and 11 digs respectively, while Lauren Alberti chipped in nine. The defensive front got a great performance out of Emma Ballantyne, who had five block assists, as well as Katie Ballantyne (three block assist), Becca Acevedo (two block assist), and Abby Palkert (one solo, one block assist). Acevedo also finished the match with 42 assists.

PBA returns to action on Saturday, October 25th, as they travel to the University of Tampa to take on the AVCA No. 1 Spartans at 4 pm.
