WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The wins continue to pile up for the Sailfish volleyball team as they claimed win No. 32 of the season on Tuesday evening over Florida Tech before an energetic crowd at the Rubin Arena. The Fish would take care of business on the court then gather to celebrate off it with friends and family of lone senior Mariela Quesada as the program celebrated their annual Senior Night.

Quesada was spectacular on her night as she slammed home a match-high 18 kills including the final three points of the match as PBA cruised to their ninth win in a row by the scores of 25-21. 25-15 and 25-14.

The Sailfish secured the season sweep over the Panthers (15-10) while notching their fourth straight win over their neighbors from the north in Melbourne dating back to last season.

The Sailfish rode a strong defensive effort in the win as they limited FIT to only a .057 team hitting percentage for the match including a -.032 in the third and final set.

On the flip side the Sailfish were strong once again at the front line with a .253 team hitting percentage.

Following Quesada in the kills category was freshman Rachel Jones with seven kills while redshirt freshman Elly Raush (.462 hitting percentage) added in six kills (.444 hitting percentage).

Becca Acevedo guided the offense from the setter position with 37 assists while Quesada and freshman Faith Rohn each posted two aces.

Rohn was once again superb on the back-line with a team-best 13 digs in the win while libero Melissa Buckingham Quesada each contributed nine digs.

Florida Tech was led by eight kills from senior Janice Valies while Alexis Mastela added in 21 assists in the loss.

The Sailfish will wrap up the regular season on Friday, November 9th when they travel to Barry University for a 7 pm match. The two teams squared off already once this season with PBA holding on for an exciting 3-2 win in West Palm Beach.
