AVE MARIA, Fla.- For the seventeenth time in 20 matches this season the Palm Beach Atlantic University volleyball team came through with a 3-0 victory as the squad improved to 18-2 on the season on Wednesday night by defeating Ave Maria University on the road. Utilizing a full roster, head coach Bob White played all 17 of his available players as the Fish sweep the season series over the Lady Gyrenes.

Junior Mariela Quesada led all PBA players in kills with eight followed by five kills each from seniors Janeen McCormick and Lanae Robinson. Robinson managed her solid night on only seven attacks while McCormick was dominant at the net with six total blocks (four solo, two block assists).

Becca Acevedo and Jessica Way split the setting duties with Acevedo contributing 17 assists and four digs while Way chipped in with nine assists and a pair of digs.

Allie Warren led all players with 16 digs while Melissa McPeek added in 15 digs as a defensive specialist.

The Gyrenes (8-14) were paced by Sarah Stona who had nine kills.

The Sailfish will take on a tough task their next time out as they will battle Rollins College as part of the Hyatt Place Sunshine Classic this weekend at the Rubin Arena. The Fish and Tars will battle at 7 pm on Friday, October 21st while the University of Central Oklahoma will join the festivities on Saturday with both PBA and Rollins each getting a crack at UCO.
