Sailfish Women's Hoops Drops Game to Rollins College on the Road

Box Score

WINTER PARK, Fla.- Wrapping up one of their final games of the 2007-2008 season, the Palm Beach Atlantic University women’s basketball team continued their challenging season on Monday evening as they traveled to Rollins College for a showdown with the Tars. RC ended the night victorious with a 60-46 victory over the Fish.

Sophomore Haley Adcock (Monroe, Ga.) continued to make strides as a post player head coach Robin Potera-Haskins will look to count on in the future as she produced a season-high 20 points against Rollins tonight.

Hitting 8-of-14 shots from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line, Adcock continues to improve her offensive game alongside fellow post player Brooke Burgess (Palm City, Fla.). A 6’2” center, Adcock also pulled down seven rebounds.

Burgess once again proved valuable on both ends of the floor as she ended the night with yet another double-double as she netted 13 points and 11 rebounds despite a night where she struggled somewhat with her shot as she registered a shooting performance of 5-of-16 from the field.

Trailing by only five points at the half (32-27), PBA once again faced the daunting task of playing a full 40 minutes with only seven healthy players available. Marthany Jean-Baptiste (West Palm Beach, Fla.) chipped in six points off the Sailfish bench.

Facing a busy week, the Sailfish will hit the court again later this week as they travel to Flagler College in St. Augustine on Friday, February 9th for a 6 pm matchup with the Saints before returning home for a Saturday afternoon matinee with Rollins on Saturday at 3 pm.
