Box Score

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Despite two very competitive games to start the match, the Palm Beach Atlantic University volleyball team was unable to earn a victory as Lynn University utilized two late runs and a dominant third set to sweep the Sailfish by a score of 3-0 on Halloween night at the Rubin Arena.

With both teams battling throughout most of the first two sets to the tune of 24 ties and 10 lead changes, the Knights experience and savvy proved valuable as they took down the Fish late in both games with 25-23 and 25-22 scores. Somewhat out of gas, the Sailfish were dominated in the final game as Lynn finished out the night with a 25-12 victory to take the match.

Once again without starting senior middle-blocker Brittany Erickson, the Fish obviously missed the strong attack of Erickson as the home-standing Fish managed just 23 kills to that of 41 kills by the Fighting Knights.

Stepping up in place of Erickson was a pair of players, both of which are underclassman. Sophomores Kristin Carroll and Liz Fugate both tallied six kills each while Carroll tied for the team-high with Jennifer Eldridge in digs with eight.

Senior Emily Ryerson tossed out 20 assists while chipping in seven digs from the setter position.

On the Knights side, it would be the strong hitting of senior Daris Rodriguez and Camila Lins as both players reached double-figures in kills with 16 and 11 respectively. Rodriguez proved dominant at times during the match with a .379 attack percentage while Lins proved even more efficient with a solid if not spectacular .479 attack percentage.

Sophomore setter Devon Woolard dished out assist after assist on the night by totaling 37 assists for the match. Sophie Gagnon led all players with 16 defensive digs while Rodriguez paced the blocking effort for LU with six blocks (one solo, five assists).

PBA will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Winter Springs, Florida for a match with Rollins College on Saturday, November 1st at 4 pm.
