SAINT LEO, Fla.- Hitting the road for a weekend swing through west Florida, the Palm Beach Atlantic University volleyball team opened up the first of two matches this weekend, first beginning at Saint Leo University. The Lions proved to be to much for the Sailfish to handle as they swept PBA 3-0.

The Fish will look to regroup as they will be traveling to St. Augustine, Florida on Saturday to face off against Flagler College. PBA and Flagler have split their matches this year at 1-1, most recently with PBA taking down the Saints 3-1 last Saturday in the Rubin Arena.

Connecting for just a .084 hitting percentage, the Sailfish struggled to match the strong play provided by SLU at the net. The Lions registered an impressive .350 team attack percentage. The Lions cruised in the match by the scores of 25-12, 25-22, and 25-17.

PBA (10-15) were led by sophomores Kristin Carroll and Liz Fugate with six kills each followed up closely by senior middle-blocker Brittany Erickson with five kills.

Senior setter Emily Ryerson tallied 19 set assists in the loss while also chipping in seven digs in the defensive effort. Junior Jennifer Eldridge tied Ryerson for the team lead in digs with seven as well.

Saint Leo (24-8) rode the strong play of Jenna Jordan at the net as she put down 15 kills with just two hitting errors to the tune of a .520 hitting percentage for the match. She also led all players with 10 digs.

PBA will get back in action against Flagler on Saturday at 2 pm.
