Alex Sosa was named the assistant cross country/track coach at Palm Beach Atlantic in August of 2025.

"I had the pleasure of coaching Alex during grad school, along with helping him get his start in the coaching world last year at Young Harris," said Coach Rennix. "We've built a strong relationship over the years, and I believe we really complement each other well in our coaching styles and approach. He's passionate about the sport, eager to grow, and I'm excited to work alongside him. I know he's going to bring great value to our program."

Bio Divider - Prior to PBA
Sosa started his coaching career off last season at Young Harris College. He played a key role in the continued growth of the cross country program in 2024, kicking the season off with a record-breaking recruiting class of 22 new athletes. The women's team earned a third-place finish at the 2nd Annual Young Harris Opener in September and secured a top-10 finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship in October. The men's team claimed second place at the home opener and finished sixth at the conference championship. Two of his runners were named Conference Carolinas Runners of the Week , while another earned the prestigious Elite 23 award for the second straight year.

While at Converse University, Sosa specialized in distance events and helped build the program in their first year. He took second place at the Electric City Invitational and marked a personal best of 4:25.10 followed by a fourth-place finish at the Montreat College Open in the 10,000m. At the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships, he placed fifth with a personal best of 31:43.75.

While at Emmanuel College, Sosa was a key contributor for the cross country program, helping record top finishes and a Conference Carolinas championship in 2021. He was a two time All-Conference Third Team honoree in 2021 and 2022. In track and field, Sosa was an eight-time Conference Carolinas All-Conference selection.  He currently holds the 10,000m school record and marked a runner-up finish at the 2021 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track and Field Championship with a personal best of 31:40.84 in the 10K.
