As a former NCAA Division I standout and player in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), Chantelle Anderson provides the Sailfish women's basketball program a valued member of the team's coaching staff as she enters her first season as an assistant coach in 2010-2011.
Anderson played six seasons in the WNBA and overseas while suiting up for the Sacramento Monarchs, San Antonio Silverstars, and the Atlanta Dream after being chosen #2-overall by the Monarchs in the 2003 WNBA Draft. While overseas, Anderson took the court in countries such as France, Russia, Hungary, Lebanon, and Turkey.
Before embarking on her professional career, Anderson was a four-year standout and three-time All-American at Vanderbilt University where she built a collegiate career into the all-time leading scorer in Lady Commodores history by tallying over 2,600 points.
In 2009, Anderson became the youngest member of the Vanderbilt Hall of Fame as part of the inaugural class of inductees. She is slated to have her jersey retired this coming season.
Anderson is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree from Palm Beach Atlantic in Organizational Leadership while also assisting the Sailfish women’s basketball program. She will assist head coach Clarisse Garcia with all phases of the program including on-court coaching, practice sessions, recruiting, travel, and camps.
