Abbey Silvestri joined the Sailfish softball program as an assistant coach for the 2022 season.
Silvestri improved the squad's team ERA in the 2023 season. PBA's team ERA was lowered by .40 from the 2022 year. The Sailfish 2023 pitching staff also showed improvement in strikeouts and walks.
Silvestri had a decorated career at Palm Beach Atlantic pitching for the Sailfish from 2018-2021. She finished the 2021 season as an All-American, All-Region, and SSC Pitcher of the Year. She was a four-time President's List recipient for having a grade point average of 4.0. She left PBA with the lowest career ERA (1.28) and finishes second in the DII-ERA in opponent's batting avg. (.219), wins (57) and strikeouts (375).
