Heidi Lengyel was named the first head coach of PBA's club equestrian porgram in October of 2022. She brings over 40 years of riding and training experience to the program.
She has been a staple in the equestrian community in South Florida, having started the College Preparatory Invitational Horse Show in Wellington in 2010, along with coaching equestrian teams at Oxbridge Academy and Keiser University. Lengyel and her husband Steve have owned, trained, and ridden horses at Wall Street Farm since 2000.
No stranger to collegiate riding, Lengyel was a member of two IHSA Championship teams at Southern Seminary Junior College and Colby Sawyer College. Before coaching at Keiser and Oxbridge Academy, Lengyel coached winter clinics for Brown University since 2011. She has also been an owner, trainer, and exercise rider at Churchill Downs in Kentucky. Lengyel galloped hall of fame racehorses at Churchill Downs and Keeneland Racecourse, handling Kentucky Derby winners and top finishers.
Lengyel and her husband Steve have been married for 21 years and enjoy working with dog rescues. They live in Fort Lauderdale and Cape Cod with eight rescue chihuahuas. Lengyel is a member of Christ the King Fellowship Church.
Lengyel hopes to get the program into competitions during the 2022-23 school year. For more information about the equestrian program, visit pbasailfish.com or email heidi_lengyel@pba.edu.
