JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Palm Beach Atlantic Women's soccer played Edward Waters to a 1-1 tie Monday at Nathaniel Glover Community Field & Stadium.
Kelsi Bennett scored the tying goal in the final ten minutes with an assist from
Meren Patton. The Sailfish finished with seven shots, including five on goal, while Edward Waters had five shots and three on goal.
The Sailfish recorded the first half's only shots on goal, forcing Solange Brown into three saves. Patton put an early attempt on frame in the fifth minute, and Edward Waters' lone shot of the half went wide left shortly afterward. The 'Fish added a corner kick in the 17th minute before
Madison Kovar had a shot saved in the 27th. Abby Longstaff forced another save in the 42nd minute, and
Natalia Ragonese sent the final Sailfish attempt high as the half ended 0-0.
The Tigers took the lead with a goal in the 62nd minute. Longstaff and
Madison Kovar took their attempts at the net throughout the half.
Jadyn Stults provided multiple saves to keep hopes alive for the 'Fish. Bennett capitalized on her go at the goal putting the ball in the back of the net to even the game at one a piece. The final minutes ticked the game to a 1-1 draw.
Bennett scored a match-tying goal, converting her lone shot on goal for two points. Patton recorded an assist and put her only shot on frame. Longstaff placed both of her two shots on goal. Stults played all 90 minutes in goal and made two saves.
The Sailfish will return to West Palm Beach on Wednesday to play Florida Memorial at 6:00 p.m. at the Rinker Athletic Campus.
