JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic Sailing continued its strong start to the fall season with a fourth-place finish at the JAX Open, hosted by Jacksonville University.

Sailing in light winds and a strong current that challenged the fleet throughout the day, the Sailfish finished with 37 points to place fourth in the seven-team field, putting together a balanced performance across both divisions.

PBA's A Division led the way with 15 points, as senior skipper Nathan Hjort and senior crew Madelyn Smith recorded finishes of 3rd, 4th, and 1st over the final three races. The veteran duo capped the regatta with a race victory to secure one of the top division finishes of the weekend.

In B Division, junior skipper Kaylee King and sophomore crew Felicity Jones totaled 22 points, posting finishes of 7th, 6th, 6th, and 3rd. The pair improved throughout the regatta, ending the day with their best finish in the final race, while freshman Maiah Ahrens traveled as the team's reserve.

The fourth-place finish continues a promising fall campaign for the Sailfish as they gain valuable experience against conference competition.
