Palm Beach Atlantic Falls to Lynn University 17–4

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Sailfish took on a tough opponent Tuesday as they faced off against No. 8 Lynn University at the PBA Soccer/Lacrosse Field, ultimately falling 17–4. Despite the scoreline, the 'Fish defense held strong with 13 draw controls during the matchup.

The game kicked off with PBA gaining possession thanks to Peyton Sutton's draw control. Early offensive efforts by Olivia Larges and Sutton showed promise, but the Sailfish couldn't find the back of the net. Lynn capitalized on their early chances, with Madison Smith opening the scoring at 9:36, followed by goals from Rebecca Clark and Angelia Huggins. Keira Limpert tried to shift the tide with a draw control at 7:44, but turnovers plagued the 'Fish, ending the first quarter down 4–0.

The second quarter saw the Knights seizing control. Despite another draw control by Sutton at 13:13, turnovers and fouls hampered the 'Fish, allowing Lynn to pull away with several free position goals. A highlight came from Georgia Karns with a crucial save at 12:10, but the Knights extended their lead, closing the half at 11–0.

The third quarter brought a spark for Palm Beach Atlantic. Taryn Thompson's pivotal turnover at 11:55 led to a key possession. With a free position, Izzy King broke through with a goal at 5:22, getting the Sailfish on the board. Moments later, Larges, assisted by Kaitlyn Gallagher, netted another at 3:11, closing the gap slightly. Despite these efforts, Lynn responded, ending the quarter with a 14–2 advantage.

In the final quarter, the Sailfish showed resilience. Arianna Tribble gained crucial possession with a draw control at 11:36. Although turnovers continued, the 'Fish capitalized later in the quarter. Sutton scored at 2:48, with an assist from Larges, followed by Limpert's free position goal at 51 seconds left, showcasing the Sailfish's determination. The game wrapped up with Lynn ahead 17–4.

Olivia Larges made her mark with both a goal and an assist, converting her two shots on target. Izzy King scored on her lone attempt, while Keira Limpert added a goal from her three shots. In goal, Georgia Karns stood firm with three saves against 27 shots, anchoring the Sailfish defense.
