WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The Sailfish (4-1) dominated Lee (4-6) with a commanding 20–4 victory on Thursday at PBA Soccer Lacrosse Field. The 'Fish offense came out strong, netting eight goals in the first half and never looking back. This game set several season highs for PBA, including 20 goals, 12 assists, 19 ground balls, and 20 clears.
Right from the start, the 'Fish were on the attack.
Olivia Larges put the first point on the board at 14:18 and doubled it shortly after at 13:51. Thanks to
Keira Limpert's control over the draw, PBA kept possession, allowing Larges to score again at 9:07, assisted by
Kaitlyn Gallagher.
Annika Limpert added to the lead at 8:31, causing Lee to call for a timeout. Gallagher, with an assist from Larges, and
Bella Marchiano, who notched two assists, rounded out the first period, giving the Sailfish a solid 6–0 lead by the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter saw the 'Fish further assert their dominance.
Keira Limpert opened with a goal at 12:39, set up by Marchiano. Lee's Lily Tomczik managed to score at 11:25, but PBA quickly regained control. Both
Skylar Splinter and
Peyton Sutton got on the scoreboard, with Sutton also assisting Gallagher at 6:58. As time ticked down,
Taryn Thompson sealed the half with a last-second goal, sending the 'Fish into halftime with a 13–3 advantage.
In the third quarter, the 'Fish kept the momentum rolling.
Kaitlyn Gallagher scored at 12:03, assisted by
Grey Caplinger, and
Peyton Sutton followed up with a goal at 9:59, thanks to
Annika Limpert's assist.
Olivia Larges was unstoppable, scoring twice more at 5:15 and 4:17.
Taylor Fiorini tallied her first goal of the season on a free position at 1:43, closing a five-goal quarter for the 'Fish while Lee could only manage one goal from Tomczik.
The final quarter saw the 'Fish seal the deal.
Izzy King scored at 11:01, assisted by
Allie Truby, marking Truby's first assist of the season. Quick ground ball recoveries by
Kendall Borbi and
Samantha Longwell kept the 'Fish in possession.
Alex Sutch, assisted by Sutton, scored her first goal of the season with 5:47 left. Although Lee's Savannah Weisman made some crucial saves, including one against Splinter with just five seconds on the clock, Lee couldn't close the gap. The 'Fish wrapped up the game with a 20–4 triumph, outscoring Lee 2–0 in the final stretch.
Olivia Larges led the charge with five goals and an assist, converting six of her eight shots on goal.
Kaitlyn Gallagher had a standout performance with three goals and three assists, including the game-winner.
Keira Limpert added two goals, maintaining her streak of scoring at least two in consecutive games.
Sydney Luber stood strong in goal, making two saves out of four shots and preserving a clean sheet during her time on the field.
The 'Fish return to action on Saturday as they take on Alabama-Huntsville in continuation of their seven game homestretch.
