After a scoreless first half, PBA netted two goals in the second half to overcome a 1-0 deficit. Saint Leo initially took the lead with a goal in the first half, but PBA's response proved decisive.
The first period began with both teams testing each other early, as the Sailfish managed multiple attempts on goal, highlighted by a shot from Mahler in the fourth minute that was saved by Saint Leo's goalkeeper. Despite maintaining pressure and generating opportunities, the 'Fish found themselves trailing after a penalty kick goal by Perez in the 38th minute put Saint Leo ahead. The period concluded with the 'Fish still seeking an equalizer, as they entered halftime down 1-0.
The second period opened with a tense back-and-forth, punctuated by multiple fouls from both teams. The Sailfish found their stride when Vastic scored the equalizer in the 61st minute, assisted by Danner. The home team's momentum continued as Vastic struck again in the 81st minute, with an assist from Klement, securing a 2-1 victory. Giannini's crucial saves, including one in the 86th minute, ensured the lead was maintained until the final whistle.
