DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team fell to the Embry-Riddle on Saturday afternoon by a score of 7-0. Despite some close singles matches, the Sailfish were unable to secure a point in the matchup.
In the doubles session, Simona Hantzis Karlsson and Cecilia Peroni dropped their first position matchup by a score of 2-6. In the second position was Alina Hoermann and Valeria Lopez. They came up short and lost by a score of 2-6 as well. In the third and final matchup of the doubles session, Elsa Brenner and Alessia Passerini lost 1-6.
Moving onto the singles session, Alina Hoermann played in a tight match but fell 3-6, 5-7 in the first position. In the next match, Simona Hantzis Karlsson dropped her match by a score of 1-6, 0-6. In the third singles position of the session, Virginia Borja fell by a score of 2-6, 3-6.
In the fourth singles match of the afternoon, Anarella Brito lost her match 1-6, 0-6. In the penultimate position of the singles session, Elsa Brenner kept it close but fell 4-6, 3-6. In the final position of the day, Valeria Lopez lost 4-6, 1-6.
The Sailfish women's tennis team returns to action on Wednesday when they return home at 2 p.m. to take on Warner.
