WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team defeated the Ave Maria Gyrenes for the second time this season. The 'Fish scored 6-1 which is two more points than their last match up against the Gyrenes. This is PBA's second win of the season with the first being against Florida National. This is PBA's fifth win of the season.
In doubles play, Simona Karlsson-Hantzis and Cecilia Peroni were the only court to fall to their opponents 6-3. On doubles court two, the pair of Virgina Borja and Jasmine Williams crushed the competition 6-0. The tandem of Frida Alsterham and Alina Hoermann blew their opponents away with a final score of 6-1.
In singles play, all the Sailfish took down their competition in two sets, except for Williams who fell 6-2, 6-1. Karlsson-Hantzis, playing on court two, won her match 6-3, 6-2. In third singles, Hoermann fought and won her battle 6-3, 7-5, while on court four Borjia came out on top with a final score of 6-2, 6-4. Peroni defeated her opponent 6-0, 6-1, while Alsterham did not let her opponent take a single game (6-0, 6-0).
