WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Thursday morning, the women's tennis team clinched a close match up against St. Thomas 4-3.
In doubles play, the Sailfish won the doubles point with court one and three winning their matches. The pair of Simona Karlsson-Hantzis and Cecilia Peroni won their match 6-3. On court two, the tandem of Alina Hoermann and Jasmine Williams fell 6-3. On court three, Virginia Borjia and Jelsyvette Croes won 6-4.
In singles play, Williams fell to her opponent 6-3, 6-3. On court two, Karlsson-Hantzis won her match 7-6 (7-0), 6-3. Hoermann dominated court three with a final score of 6-0, 6-3. Borjia, playing fourth singles, was downed 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) in a super set. On court five, Peroni dropped her match 6-3, 6-2. Croes took her match to a super set and came out victorious with a final score of 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4).
