AVE MARIA, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team defeated the Ave Maria Gyrenes 4-3 on Tuesday. This is PBA's second win of the season with the first being against Florida National. 
 
In singles competition, four out of six courts went into a super, ten-point tie breaker. On court one Simona Karlsson Hantzis won her match 6-3, 4-6, 10-3. This puts Karlsson Hantzis on the board with twice as many wins than losses. Freshman Virgina Borja picked up her first collegiate win with a final score of 4-6, 7-6 (7-0), 10-5. On court four Frida Alsterhem won her match 5-7, 6-1, 10-7. Jelsyvette Croes made her second singles appearance and won her match 6-4, 6-4. Sonya Hopfensperger lost her match 6-7 (2-7), 6-3, 10-4, while on court two Alina Hoermann dropped her match 6-4, 6-2. 

In doubles competition, the 'Fish lost the point. The pair of Karlsson Hantzis and Hopfensperger fell 7-6 in a tight contest. Alsterhem and Hoermann cruised to a 6-0 victory. The tandem of Borjia and croes lost 6-3.
