HILEAH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis team picked up its first victory over Florida National 5-2.
PBA freshman Sonya Hopensperger picked up her first career singles victory over 6-2, 6-7, 10-8.
Cecilia Peroni earned her third singles win 6-3, 6-3.
Frida Alsterhem won her match 6-2, 6-3. On court two
Alina Hoermann defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-1. With a final score of 6-2, 7-5,
Jasmine Williams won her match. Virgina Botja was the only singles court to lose her match 3-6, 1-6.
The Sailfish took one of three doubles matches and lost the doubles point. The PBA pair of Peroni and Williams picked up a doubles victory 6-1. The tandem of Hoermann and Borja were defeated 3-6 while Alsterhem and Hopfensperger dropped their match 3-6 as well..
Next, PBA hosts Florida Southern Saturday, Feb. 17th.
