Sailfish Fight Back but Fall to Knights

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- Despite a valiant comeback effort, The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish women's basketball team fell to the Lynn University Knights on Saturday afternoon by a score of 68-57.

Katelynn Hagy got the scoring started for PBA early in the game with her first layup of the game. Both teams traded buckets during the quarter and Lynn held the lead 15-14 after the first period.

Lynn started to pull away in the second quarter. Largely in part to three three-pointers from Channing Chappell, the Sailfish found themselves down 38-29 at the halftime break.

Lynn extended their lead in the third quarter as well. PBA struggled from the floor in the third quarter shooting 19.05% from the field. The Sailfish were down 57-43 heading into the final frame.

PBA went down by 17 with 7:44 left in the game. The Sailfish fought back in the form of a 12-0 run capped off by a three-point shot from Anabel Ellison to cut the Knights lead down to five.
Unfortunately, that would be the closest the 'Fish would get and Lynn finished the game off with a few unanswered buckets of their own.

Karyzma Pierre led the Sailfish with 14 points in the game. Kash Ayuso was close behind her with 12 of her own and seven assists. Anabel Ellison had a double-double in only 28 minutes with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Sailfish will return to the court in an exhibition matchup with Fort Lauderdale on December 18 at 12 p.m. at the Rubin Arena. Their next regular season match up will be against Bowie State in the Lynn Holiday Classic on December 21 at 1 pm.
