SPARKS, Md. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's lacrosse scored the first four goals en route to a 19-6 victory over Post University on Friday evening in a game played at the U.S. Lacrosse Facility.
Kiki Cinotti scored the first goal of the goal three minutes in, but it'd be her setting up her teammates the rest of the way that propelled the 'Fish to victory. Cinotti assisted on two of the next three goals as Taylor Gutmann and Grace Bartlinski found the back of the net as the sophomore finished the game with seven assists. It's the fourth time in her career she's recorded five or more assists.
Bartlinski finished the game with four goals to lead the team and finished with five points. Ten different players scored in the game for PBA including seven in the first half as the 'Fish went to the break leading 12-2. Anna Laskaris scored back-to-back goals in the opening half while Gutmann added her second of the half. Kate LeBlanc also found the net twice in the opening half including a man-down goal to put PBA ahead 3-0 early on.
Riley Latshaw opened the scoring in the second half as PBA continued their run, eventually taking a 17-2 lead. Kelly Lyons found the back of the net during that run as did Lindsey Heffler. Latshaw added another goal later while Nicole Townsend scored two of her three goals in the second half.
Abigal Nehring made five saves in net for the Sailfish while holding the opposition to the third fewest goals in program history. Laskaris picked up a team-best four ground balls while Cinotti added three. Bartlinski and Heffler each were credited with three caused turnovers to lead the way. The Sailfish dominated the draw controls, winning 19 of the 25 in the game. Laskaris was credited with six while Latshaw was credited with four.
The 'Fish will close out their trip in Maryland with a matchup with Florida Tech on Sunday at 4 p.m.
