WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's tennis bounced back with a win on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Eckerd 7-0 for their first SSC win of the season.
The Sailfish won all three doubles by the exact same score of 6-1 as the duos of Vanessa Buchbinder/Yuliia Russu, Bella Mermersky/Consuela Van Grinsven and Nicole Reich/Elvira Edstrom all picked up victories.
In singles play the 'Fish won three of the six matches without dropping a game as Mermersky, Reich and Edstrom all won by the same 6-0, 6-0 score. Buchbinder picked up her win 6-2, 6-0 while Russu won 6-3, 6-2. Van Grinsven needed three sets to take down her opponent, winning 3-6, 6-3, 10-5.
The Sailfish are back in action on Thursday as they take on No. 1 Barry at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center at 3 p.m.
