WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's basketball dropped a Sunshine State Conference contest to No. 9/15 Florida Southern on Wednesday evening, as they fell to the Moccasins by a 76-46 final inside Rubin Arena. The Sailfish fall to 2-10 on the season with the loss while FSC improve to 13-1 and have now won 10 consecutive games.
The Mocs got off to a hot start shooting in the opening quarter, as they went 10-for-19 from the field and led 21-13 as they scored four points in the last five seconds of the quarter. FSC extended their lead in the second quarter as Anja Fuchs-Robetin dominated play, scoring 22 points total in the first half as the Mocs went 6-for-6 inside the arc in the second quarter.
Jonika Garvin had a nice second half, as she scored 15 of her 21 points in the second 20 minutes but the Sailfish had no answer for the Mocs offense as Florida Southern cruised to a 76-46 victory. Fuchs-Robetin finished with 30 points, as she went 14-of-16 shooting in the game.
Garvin led the 'Fish offensively with her 21 points and six rebounds on the night. Katie Stang and Victoria Self added six points each as Self added four rebounds.
The Sailfish will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 12 as they will host Embry-Riddle for a 2 p.m. start.
