Sailfish Stay Undefeated in SSC Play With 4-1 Win over Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The No. 17 ranked Palm Beach Atlantic softball team kept with their winning ways on Friday, as they defeated Rollins College 4-1 at MLK Jr. Park.  The Sailfish improve to 11-2 on the season and 4-0 in Sunshine State Conference play with the win while the Tars now sit 11-9 and 4-3 and league play.

The Sailfish quickly struck first on the night, as Edmilly Molina homered in the first inning to give the 'Fish a 1-0 lead.  Rollins struck back in the bottom of the second however, as a Sailfish error led to the Tars tying the game at one.

The 'Fish scored two runs in the third inning to take back the lead as reigning SSC Player of the Week Michaela Hynes picked up a bunt single.  Molina came around to score the third Sailfish run on a wild pitch later in the inning.

The 'Fish added an insurance run in the fourth inning as Kaley Hinds was hit by pitch, and came around to score on a Magnolia West single to left field.

Senior Ashton Adkins dominated in the circle for the 'Fish on Friday night, as she allowed just two hits and struck out five.  Adkins just allowed the one unearned run and improved to 3-1 on the season.  The righty retired the final 13 batters she faced in the game to pick up the complete game.

Hynes finished 2-for-3 at the plate for the Sailfish, who recorded six hits in the night, but also reached on four walks and two hit batters.  Molina scored two runs and reached base two times as well.

The 'Fish will return to action tomorrow, March 3, for a doubleheader against the Tars.  First pitch is scheduled for  1 p.m.
