WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer picked up their sixth straight victory on Monday evening, defeating Florida Memorial 4-0. The victory is the second over the Lions this season for PBA after also winning 9-0 earlier this year.
The 'Fish (16-1) saw goals from four different players on the night with Joao Coutinho getting things started in the ninth minute. He knocked home his second goal of the season after a nice find from Cad Cusatis who picked up his sixth assist of the season, tying him for the team lead.
Later in the first half it was Thomas Spear connecting on his second goal in as many games off a feed from Guillermo Deal to make it 2-0 after just over 12 minutes of action. The score stayed that way into the second half before Marc Hebbeker found the back of the net.
Hebbeker scored off a free kick, heading the ball into the net off a pass from Matheus Tonon. The goal is the sixth of the season for Hebbeker as Tonon picked up his second assist of the year. Raphael Campos made it 4-0 in the 62nd minute as he found the back of the net for the second time this season after Luis Quintero set him up for the goal. The assist from Quintero is his first on the year.
PBA took 22 shots to just seven for the Lions with Patrick Seuffert making four saves for the 'Fish to earn his second shutout of the season.
The Sailfish will close out the regular season on Tuesday as they take on Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach at 7 p.m. PBA can clinch their second straight Sunshine State Conference title with a win or a tie. They can also take the title regardless of their result if Nova Southeastern defeats or ties Lynn.
